Two 14-year-old boys in Lewiston, Maine are in trouble after allegedly stealing a piece of construction equipment and taking it on a joyride through numerous Maine communities.
Authorities say that the two kids stole the excavator early Monday morning and ran over mailboxes, street signs and fire hydrants. Police were called, but the boys refused to pull over. They then took the excavator on to the Maine Turnpike, eventually crossing the median and driving the opposite direction of traffic. Once officers noticed that the teens were deliberately striking other vehicles, they decided to take action by shooting out the tires of the massive machine.
Luckily, no one was hurt during this whole ordeal. Charges are pending against the teenagers.
