recently ranked The Wonder Years
63rd on the list of the greatest TV shows of all time. The show, which starred Fred Savage as teenager Kevin Arnold, was set in the late 60s/early 70s and ran for six seasons from 1988 to 1993.
Recently, Alley Mills, who played Kevin's on-screen mother Norma Arnold, spoke to Yahoo and dropped a bombshell as to why the show may have been canceled after the sixth season. Mills claims that Savage and Jason Hervey (who played Kevin's brother Wayne) were the focus of a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by a 31-year-old costume designer on the show. Savage and Hervey were 16 and 20-years-old at the time of the lawsuit, respectively. Mills says that the allegations were completely ridiculous and unfounded, referring to Savage as "the least offensive, most wonderful, sweet human being that ever walked the face of the Earth."
Ultimately, the network decided to settle with the accuser out of court. The show was canceled soon after.
