Man Buys Soldier A Plane Ticket So He Can Fly Home To Visit His Family Over Memorial Day Weekend (Video)
Posted by Steve on May 30 2017

Over the weekend, 19-year-old Army mechanic Keaton Tilson was stuck at the airport in Dallas for two days while trying to fly home from Fort Hood to Granite City, IL.  Tilson couldn't afford a full-price ticket and was trying to fly standby.

Josh Rainey, another passenger, was also there waiting to fly home to St. Louis.  And when he found out how long Keaton had waited, he offered to give him his ticket.  Since the airlines are, well, difficult, they wouldn't let him transfer his ticket, so Josh called his wife and explained what was going on.  And they decided to just buy him a ticket!

Tilson talked to a reporter on the phone after he got home and he said that he probably wouldn't have made it if they hadn't helped.

The ticket cost about $350.  After he bought it, Josh says Keaton walked up and asked if he could give him a big hug.  And the hug was worth way more than the money he spent.  He says the fact that his dad was in the military was one of the things that motivated him to help Keaton out.  Well done, Mr. Rainey!
