No other story recently is a better example of the stupid times we live in.
About 200 students at an elementary school in Pueblo, CO did not attend school on Friday because of an email that went out by a third-grader on Thursday evening. The email that was sent to students contained nothing but emojis, including cows, sheep, bombs, knives and guns. Because we live in a super-sensitive society these days, many parents took this emoji-filled email as a threat and opted to keep their children home from school.
The email was investigated by administrators and, surprise surprise, no threat was found by the third-grader that sent it. The kid was probably just screwing around on the iPad and inadvertently composed an email to a distribution list. Is it really that easy to shut down a school these days?!
