Alright, all of this organic, vegan, vege-ultra-glutenatarians stuff has gone a little too far now. Live scorpions in spinach? What kind of nutritional value does that add?! Well, this Maryland couple almost found that out when Sri Sindhusha Boddapati and her husband found a live scorpion in their new bag of spinach. Boddapati said she had opened the bag and saw something moving and assumed it was a cricket, but upon putting the creature in a bottle, she realized what it really was. When her husband came home, he then took the bottle to the store and told them to pull all the bags of Giant brand spinach. The store contacted the supplier but no recall has been issued.
We all better start checking our greens out extra carefully now because this incident follows one from last week where two people found a dead bat in their packaged salad. However, in that case, the company Fresh Express issued a recall. So check your lettuce and your kale and all of that good stuff. We’re just left with one question, though: are scorpions gluten free?
