British Columbia man, Mark Skage, thought he was doing the right thing when he allowed a lonely moose calf into his truck but it appears to have come back to bite him…the situation, that is, not the moose.
Skage was driving along when he noticed the baby moose on the side of the road, alone, almost being hit by cars. He pulled up and upon opening the door, the calf almost immediately tried climbing in. Skage claims there was a bear a mere 50 feet away, so he got the moose in his cab(oose) of his truck and off they went.
He dropped the calf off to a wildlife rehabilitation center but, later, he was fired from his job for “breaching company protocols around interactions with wildlife.”
