Paul McCartney just finished working on a 1978 John Lennon demo called “Now and Then” that, with the help of artificial intelligence, has been cleaned up, produced and is se to be released later this year.

This all was able to come together as Yoko Ono gave the tape to Paul but while George Harrison was still alive, he believed it couldn’t be cleaned up enough, so they all left it alone.

In the time since, Paul, George, and Ringo were able to use other demos of John’s to release “Free as a Bird” in 1996 and “Real Love” in 1995.  Those tracks were produced by the surviving Beatles and Jeff Lynne, while this upcoming release will be produced by the remaining Beatles, Paul and Ringo, Jeff, and AI which has people a bit uneasy.

Are you team “Yay! New Beatles music” or “don’t f**k with the classics”?
