While some students didn’t even realize “graduate” was spelled wrong as “gradutate” on their stoles until they were on the ceremony stage, that doesn’t stop community members from being upset.
The school has since apologized for not checking before the stoles were distributed, are working to photoshop to the correct spelling in photos, and will be mailing new sashes to students with their diplomas.
While that’s all well and good, the vendor also issued and apology for the stoles that may have “hindered your graduation experience” which may be a bit overkill. Yes, apologize, but folks still got to enjoy their day before they even noticed.
