Recently at Formula 1’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix, driver Esteban Ocon was coming in on the final lap to make a pit stop, when he narrowly avoided hitting a crowd of people gathered on the active pitlane.
Apparently, because he was making the stop so late in the race, the top three finishers were already established and the crowd was gathered to celebrate. However, they likely should have waited until the race was officially over…but also he shouldn’t have waited until the end to pit.
Either way, all are lucky to be alive and we are now going to be using the word “shambles” a lot more.
