As Nic Cage makes the rounds promoting the new movie in which he plays the iconic Dracula, Renfield, he’s sharing stories of his iconic career.

No, it’s not his first time playing a vampire, and also is not his first time in a film where bugs are consumed.

Back in the 80’s, when Cage was starring in Vampire’s Kiss, he ate real cockroaches. Once for the actual take of the movie and another time as the director was pranking him.

While he absolutely regrets doing it, his Renfield co-star Nicholas Hoult was able to get some insight as he ate a real potato bug, fake crickets and caramel cockroaches.
