We’ll agree with this guy, this is insanely embarrassing and we would not want video evidence of it to exist either…However, putting a fellow law enforcement professional in this position is a no-go from us.
This Oklahoma police captain was caught drinking and driving recently, and continuously asked the officer performing the stop to turn his body camera off. The officer informs him he is a sergeant of his own unit and reiterated to the captain, “I know you’re aware of our bodycam policy, you know I cannot turn off this bodycam.”
After refusing to complete the sobriety tests, the captain was arrested and the officer who made the arrest should sleep well at night knowing he did the right thing.
