The lawsuit alleges Lockliear approached Moran after the call — in which Lockliear’s son was thrown out at home plate — and asked, “Are you stupid?” Then, according to the lawsuit, umpire Moran told the mayor that he was playing for and representing the town. Then, the lawsuit alleges the mayor said: “I own this town! You won’t have to worry about representing this town anymore because you won’t be back out here.”

This is likely the most petty and egregious abuse of power from a Mayor after a RECREATIONAL kickball league’s umpire was fired.

According to the umpire, Mr. Mayor got butt-hurt after a call was made against his team.

Now the umpire has filed a lawsuit, urging the investigation of the Mayor and possible misconduct!

According to the lawsuit, the Mayor threw a temper tantrum during a game, then was “pulling strings” to have the umpire removed from his part time position.

With the umpire only taking in $1,200 per season the suit isn’t about money, “It’s the message that our politicians cannot bully private citizens and get away with it” said Berkeley County lawyer Tom Fernandez.

The suit states that the Mayor asked his son “Are you stupid” as he was rounding home base so the umpire, fairly, responded saying he represents the town as a whole.

The Mayor, though, like a spoiled rotten brat not getting his way yelled “I own this town! You won’t have to worry about representing this town anymore because you won’t be back out here.”
