The Federal Trade Commission is cracking down and has filed a complaint against a Jacksonville, Florida-based company that states the app they have created can be used for stalking.
According to the FTC, Retina-X created and sells apps MobileSpy, PhoneSheriff and TeenShield, with the main concept being parents can use it to monitor their kids’ activity.
The apps, however, share pretty much everything about a smartphone user’s activities like text and call history and browser history!
A cyber safety consultant said someone can get these apps downloaded on your phone without your knowledge and would have access to all of your whereabouts which makes apps like these a recipe for disaster when it comes to potential stalking!
Are you a parent or a even just a stalker who uses these apps? What else do you use? Let us know!
