This family thought they had scored their dream home to raise their three young children in but things turned into such a nightmare they had to sell it for a massive loss.
After starting renovations, Derek Broaddus went out to his mailbox to find a pretty terrifying letter from a stranger nicknamed “The Watcher”.
The letter starts off cordially enough but gets more menacing when its author says it has been his family’s duty for years to watch the house and now it is his time.
“Do you need to fill the house with the young blood I requested? Better for me. Was your old house too small for the growing family? Or was it greed to bring me your children? Once I know their names I will call to them and draw them too me.”
He then continues to send letters outlining the Broaddus family’s day-to-day activities until it got to the point the family hired investigators and eventually sold the house for $440,640, far less than the $1.4 million they paid for it!
