When he mentioned his views on the dances to his wife, she broke down in tears and was literally shaken at the thought of “taking away” that traditional moment from their daughter.
This dad points out it’s “oddly date-like” and the dances’ roots in “purity balls” and while he says he loves his daughter, he does not want to date her.
