Nancy Wilson of Heart sat down to talk about her influences in music and admitted they “borrowed” one of their most famous guitar riffs from another band years ago!
In the early days of Heart’s career, they were opening up for European band, Nazareth who had a pretty awesome cover of Joni Mitchell’s “This Flight Tonight.”
Nazareth had opened the song up with a guitar riff that caught Nancy Wilson’s attention who decided to borrow it and use it for Heart’s major hit “Barracuda.”
Later, Wilson said they caught up with Nazareth and they were pretty ticked about the riff but in the end, the better song won!
