Earlier this month we heard the story of how this Colorado man was able to escape a mountain lion attack after strangling it to death and now he has teamed up with Colorado Parks and Wildlife to tell it himself!
Travis Kauffman said he moved out to Colorado so he could enjoy more of an active, outdoor lifestyle and discovered a love for trail running!
Though he would pay attention for mountain lions as they are common in the area, there’s no way to prepare for an unexpected attack!
During the attack Kauffman was able to pull off a few defensive maneuvers and ended up stepping on its neck until it died and let go.
He is not proud he had to kill the animal but he’s healing up well and he said his own pet cat “knows something’s up” and has been “extra nice.”
