So, here we are. The end of 2009. It's been a big year and a lot has gone on that I haven't blogged about. Most notably, the birth of my son. I'm an incredibly lucky man who has been blessed with amazing friends, a supportive family, a beautiful wife, my dream job and now, my son Grayson, who I subjectively believe is the greatest baby who has ever lived! Although, it'll be nice when he can start earning his keep by carrying water softener salt to the basement for old man.

His birth has really helped to put a lot of things into perspective for me. Listening to the Holiday Break-Ins this morning, I was reminded just how lucky I am and how lucky many of us are. i was also reminded just how many great people there are in the world who just want to help others. This year, so many people stepped up to help. In addition to the Break-Ins done by the great staffs at several of our affiliates, locally, we had 7 area high schools who took on the challenge of helping THIRTEEN additional families that we would not have been able to do. THIRTEEN! They chose the families. They raised the money. They bought the gifts. They executed the break-ins. I don't think I have ever been more proud of a bunch of teenagers I have never met before. I can only hope that Kerri and I raise our own son to be as proactive and caring.

As we head into 2010, I encourage you to count your own blessings and appreciate the good things you've got. I know I do!
