Hawaii State Employee Who Sent Out Warning Says He Legitimately Believed There Was An Inbound Missile (Video)
Posted by Steve on February 05 2018
Last month, an employee with the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency incorrectly sent out a warning saying that there was an incoming ballistic missile threat and to seek shelter immediately. It took nearly 40 minutes, during which time people were understandably in a complete panic, for an updated announcement to be sent out, saying that the original warning was sent in error. It turns out that the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency was conducting a routine test of their system, but the guy responsible for actually hitting the button didn't get the memo that it was just a test! Fail!

The state employee, on the condition of anonymity, is now speaking out, saying that he is NOT the one to blame for the mixup. The man insists that he did not know that it was a test, and that he truly thought that there was a missile inbound. The man was fired from his job with the agency earlier this week.
