Reason I ended up getting the H1N1 vaccine....
I'm normally a pretty healthy guy. I don't get sick often, eat pretty well, and take care of myself. My sleep schedule is messed up but that is due to working nights and doing stuff like this in addition. Anyone listening this morning heard me say that I got the H1N1 vaccine yesterday with no real complications. There's a lot of back and forth going on whether or not it is safe to get but when you have doctors on one side saying to get it and whoever-the-effs on the other saying not to, I tend to lean towards the doctor's opinion, though I guess I am somewhat biased. Point is I didn't plan to get it at first either....until I saw some of the stuff extreme cases can bring on. The big thing that I've seen is it messing up infected patient's lungs which results in normally healthy guys like me lying in an ICU hospital bed. So it only took about one of those guys to convince me to go get the shot (or nasal spray in this case, they were out of the shots when I wanted one). I went to a football game this weekend and was sitting around thinking how much there is probably infected because no dudes, which I admit includes myself, wash their hands makes me happy I got it. Now I'll just get and pass on all the other weird shit that the patients I work with have....
