This will probably be the most dramatic ending to a high-speed chase you'll ever see. And that's no exaggeration.
A while back, 18-year-old Kevonte Dekorey Austin of Webster Paris, LA walked off a work-release program and had not been seen since...until yesterday. Then a police officer was making a fairly routine speeding stop when Austin showed up again! He was the passenger in the truck and when the driver was asked to exit the vehicle, Austin hopped into the driver's seat and took off! Police took chase.
The chase reached speeds of over 115MPH. Police laid down spike strips, which caused Austin to lose control of the truck and going airborne, landing on top of another vehicle in a restaurant parking lot. And when we said "airborne," well, that just doesn't do it justice. Trust us when we say that you absolutely won't believe the amount of air that this truck got!
Somehow, the driver of the vehicle that Austin landed on escaped uninjured and Austin is back in police custody.
