Does anyone still see Craigslist as a reputable site? Unless you’re looking for a hookup/murder or someone’s free used tires, there’s a good chance you’re setting yourself up for humiliation.
Tamera Pritchett, her fiancé and two children found a house for rent, managed all of the necessary paperwork online and were given the keys to their new rental. When Dena Everman, the owner of the house, showed up and asked what they were doing there, Pritchett realized they had been scammed. Everman had just sold the house to a family that was prepared to move in the following day. Now there’s a real sh*t storm at hand.
Pritchett wants justice and isn’t leaving the house, Everman is trying to evict the unwelcome family, but hasn’t been successful, and the people who bought the home from Everman are currently homeless while waiting for their property to become available. Pritchett hopes that others learn from her mistake by not trusting everything on the internet. We hope the real criminal here, the douchebag that posted the original ad, gets caught and justice is served.
