Staff Sgt. Jordan Pritchard, a father and retired Marine in Nashville is going out of his way to make students and parents from his kids' school in Nashville. He has decided to stand guard (unarmed) out front of the school to give everyone a sense of calm. He's basically hoping that anyone thinking of doing something bad will be deterred by the sight of a uniform.
It seems like everyone is fine with his decision, except the Marine Corps. They have pretty strict rules over what uniforms can be worn, when they can be worn and where they can be worn. Standing in front of a school does NOT fall in to that category and they have asked him to stop wearing his uniform. Pritchard is resisting, stating that it's his only uniform that still fits. He said that they could strip him of his honorable discharge if they want, but he's not going to stop wearing it.
