Being proud of where you're from is pretty normal. I'm from NJ and I'm extremely proud of that and always will be. You always hear musicians, athletes and other famous people giving props to the city/town/state where they grew up.
Someone at the Lions/Falcons game this weekend was definitely proud of being from Detroit, MI. Now that's all well and good, but when that person is a young child (10-11 years old maybe?) and his pride is shown by wearing a shirt that says "Detroit F***ing Michigan", that seems a bit odd.
Great parenting. Really.
