James Franco was the Grand Marshall at the 55th running of the Daytona 500, the Great American Race yesterday. This was most likely because he's appearing in Oz: The Great and Powerful and not because he's good at saying four simple words. Grand Marshall is the easiest job there is. You hold a microphone and say "Gentlemen, start your engines". That's it!
Franco decided to put his own twist on things, which is never a good idea. Since Danica Patrick was on the poll for the race, he thought he needed to incorporate some reference to that. He could have gone the obvious route and said "Ladies and Gentlemen...", or "Gentlemen and Danica...", but no. Franco went a more insulting route and in six words, essentially said that Danica was not a driver.
Nice job, idiot.
