A young couple has raised over $360,000 for a homeless veteran who helped her when she ran out of gas on the highway.
Kate McClure ran out of gas and was walking down the highway when homeless vet, Johnny Bobbitt stopped her. He told her to get back into her car and lock it while he went and used his only $20 to buy her some gas!
Since then, Kate and her husband sought out Bobbitt who lived under an exit ramp at the time and helped him out here-and-there with things like gift cards, cash and other necessities.
Eventually the McClures started a GoFundMe for Bobbitt that had reached over $150,000 by Thanksgiving. Their story has since gone viral and now the GoFundMe has raised over $360,000 by Saturday.
Bobbitt says he will be securing a place to live and a reliable vehicle with the money but plans to donate it also to multiple organizations to "pay it forward."
The generosity and pure love this man shows is something we can definitely all learn from once we wipe the tears from our eyes!
