“Mad” Mike Hughes, a 61-year-old flat-earther, is planning his first manned launch of a homemade, $20,000 steam-powered rocket with “RESEARCH FLAT EARTH” on the side of it.
Hughes' plan, which he shared with Associated Press, is to use his new rocket to shoot him into skies above the Mojave Desert at up to 500 miles per hour while reaching 1,800 feet in altitude before it deploys two parachutes.
Despite professionals advising against the launch, Hughes says, “I know about aerodynamics and fluid dynamics and how things move through the air, about the certain size of rocket nozzles, and thrust,” he added. “But that’s not science, that’s just a formula. There’s no difference between science and science fiction.”
Hughes has already tested some wild things like this. like back in 2014 when he launched a different steam rocket traveling 1,374 feet.
Although professionals say his technology may work but is not up-to-date and safe but he is still determined and dedicated. We can only hope he realizes the Earth is, in fact, a sphere.
