Around 9:00 yesterday morning at the Exchange Place PATH station in New Jersey, an escalator decided that it really didn't like people. It was tired of being used. It was tired of the abuse. It was tired of the drunk a-holes thinking it was funny to try and run up the down side. This escalator finally snapped.
Without warning, it suddenly reversed course. Up was now down. This, no doubt, was a shock to those utilizing it at the time for it's escalating properties. Riders at the time got an unexpected workout on a never-ending stairmaster on their morning commute. PATH spokesman Ron Italian said that there were five minor injuries and nothing was life threatening.
This begs the question: Why didn't they just turn around and ride the escalator down? Thankfully, because everything on earth is always being recorded, we have video of the event to share with you!
